Norbert Steczkowski, Trinity Laban-trained, at the piano in the Harrow studio

Trinity College London is the exam board many students prefer for its flexibility. You choose three pieces from a broad list, and you pick which supporting tests to take, so the exam can be built around what a student does best.

Norbert trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, so the Trinity approach is close to home for us. We prepare the full graded path from Initial through to Grade 8.

What we cover

Repertoire on your terms

Three pieces chosen from a wide list, with room for different styles, so the programme plays to each student's strengths.

Supporting tests you choose

Trinity lets you pick from sight-reading, aural, improvisation and musical knowledge. We help each student lean into the tests that suit them.

No theory bottleneck

Unlike some boards, Trinity does not require a separate theory grade before the higher practical grades, which keeps motivated players moving.

Built around performance

Trinity's exams reward musical, confident playing. With two performing teachers, that is exactly how we teach.

We cover Initial Grade and Grades 1 to 8 for Trinity College London piano. Lessons run at our Harrow studio (HA2), in your home across HA1 to HA8, or online.

Common questions

Is Trinity easier than ABRSM?

+
Neither is easier; they are different. Trinity offers more choice in pieces and supporting tests, and no theory prerequisite for the higher grades. ABRSM is slightly more prescriptive. We help you choose the board that suits the student.

Can I switch between Trinity and ABRSM?

+
Yes. The grades are broadly equivalent and recognised the same way, so students can move between boards as their goals change. We will advise on the best fit.

Do you teach to the current Trinity syllabus?

+
Always. We prepare pieces and tests from the current Trinity syllabus, chosen to suit each student.

What is your pass rate?

+
Over 90% of our students pass with merit or distinction across ABRSM, Trinity and RSL, because we enter them only when they are ready.
