Piano Lessons in Harrow
Harrow (HA1 to HA3) · Conservatoire-trained piano teachers
Piano with Norbert is the home of professional piano tuition in Harrow. Our conservatoire-trained teachers deliver one-to-one lessons across the whole borough, from Harrow on the Hill and the town centre through to Wealdstone, Kenton and the residential streets that run out towards Pinner and Stanmore. Whether you want classical, jazz, ABRSM exam preparation or simply to learn pieces you love, we will match you to the right teacher and a programme that fits your week, your goals and your patience.
Why Harrow families and adult learners pick us
We are a small team of working musicians who teach because we are excellent at it. Every teacher has trained at a recognised UK conservatoire (Trinity Laban, Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music or BIMM London) and every teacher is fully DBS-checked. We are not a franchise or a referral platform. We are the people who actually deliver your lessons, week in and week out, and our reputation in HA1, HA2 and HA3 has been built on word-of-mouth from parents, students and adult learners who stay with us for years rather than weeks.
Most of our Harrow students are children working through ABRSM grades, but we also teach a strong cohort of adults. Some are returning to the piano after a long break. Some are starting from scratch in their forties or fifties. Some have a single piece they want to play at a wedding or for a family event and have given themselves six months to nail it. Whatever bracket you are in, we have taught someone like you before and we will be honest with you about what is realistic and what it will take.

Levels we cover and a realistic view of progress
We teach absolute beginners through to post-Grade-8 students preparing for diploma repertoire and music college auditions. The single biggest thing we offer is honest pacing. Children who practise consistently move from first lesson to Grade 1 in roughly 12 to 18 months and arrive at Grade 5 around the end of primary school. Adult beginners who put in 15 to 20 minutes a day reach a comfortable amateur standard within a year. Nobody on our team will ever rush you to an exam you are not ready for, and nobody will hold you back if you are flying.
Where in Harrow we teach
Our studio is in HA2, a short distance from Harrow town centre and the major schools. We travel to homes across HA1, HA2 and HA3 for a small location-based travel fee. The closest postcodes (Wealdstone, Kenton, North Harrow, South Harrow) are easy. Slightly further reaches (Greenhill, Roxeth, the western edge of Sudbury) are also covered. If you are unsure whether your road is in our travel area, send us your postcode in your enquiry and we will confirm before booking.
How the trial lesson works
Your first lesson is £10. It is a full-length lesson (30 minutes for younger children, 45 minutes for older students and adults) with no obligation. The teacher will assess current level, talk through goals, play with you or your child, and outline exactly what regular lessons would look like in terms of structure, frequency, repertoire and price. If for any reason the chemistry is not quite right, we will switch you to another teacher on the team without fuss.

Can you prepare my child for a music scholarship at a Harrow school?
Yes. We regularly prepare students for music scholarship rounds at independent and grammar schools across north-west London. Preparation typically covers selecting suitable pieces, building a polished performance set, sight-reading drills, aural training and mock audition runs.
Do you teach beginners or only experienced students?
Both. Beginners are the largest single group on our roster. Most of our Harrow students were complete beginners when they started with us, including many of our adult learners.
