Piano Lessons in North Harrow

North Harrow (HA2) · Conservatoire-trained piano teachers

North Harrow is our home patch. Our teaching studio sits in HA2, a few minutes from North Harrow station and from the residential streets that run between Pinner Road, Imperial Drive and the green spaces around Headstone Manor. Most of our North Harrow families come to us at the studio. Some prefer in-home lessons, which we deliver at no extra travel charge given how close the area is. Others mix in online lessons during exam season, school holidays or busy work weeks. The teaching is the same in every format: structured, paced to the student and grounded in proper musical foundations.

Right on your doorstep

If you live in North Harrow and you are looking for piano lessons, you are looking for us. We are not a network teacher who fits HA2 into a wider catchment. HA2 is our base. The studio is set up for teaching with both an acoustic Yamaha grand and a Kawai digital, the room is warm and welcoming, and parents who come for a trial lesson often comment that it feels more like visiting a friend's house than walking into a school. That matters, particularly for younger children whose first impressions shape whether the piano becomes a thing they look forward to or another item on the schedule.

Who we teach in HA2

Our North Harrow students range from four-year-olds at the very start of their musical journey to retired adults who have wanted to play the piano since childhood and have finally cleared the diary to make it happen. The largest single cohort is primary and early-secondary school students working through ABRSM Grades 1 to 5, but we also teach a meaningful number of GCSE and A-Level music students preparing performance pieces, plus adult learners across every level from absolute beginner to returning Grade 8 player.

Practice, progress and the parent's role

We will not pretend practice does not matter. It is the single biggest predictor of progress. For five to seven year olds, ten minutes a day, five days a week is plenty. For eight to twelve year olds, fifteen to twenty minutes daily. For teenagers and adults, twenty to thirty minutes is the sweet spot. We will give you and your child a clear practice plan after every lesson, and we ask parents of younger students to sit in for the first few minutes of practice each day until the routine settles. None of this is harsh; it is just honest. Children who practise progress fast. Children who do not, do not.

Frequently asked questions

Where exactly is the North Harrow studio?

Our teaching studio is in HA2, a short walk from North Harrow station. We will share the exact address when you book a trial lesson.

Do you charge a travel fee for in-home lessons in North Harrow?

Travel fees vary by exact postcode but North Harrow is the closest area to our studio so the fee is at the lowest end of our range. Many families simply come to the studio and avoid travel costs entirely.

Do you have evening and weekend slots?

Yes. The majority of our North Harrow lessons happen after school (4pm to 7pm) and on Saturday mornings. Slot availability varies week to week so it is worth enquiring early if you have specific time constraints.

Can my child attend their first lesson with a parent watching?

Absolutely. We encourage parents of younger children to sit in on the first lesson or two, and to stay in the studio for any lesson where the child would feel more comfortable. After the first month most children prefer to settle into the lesson on their own.
