Piano with Norbert – Lesson Cancellation & Attendance Policy
At Piano with Norbert, we believe that consistent practice and regular lessons are key to musical development. These policies are designed to respect both your time and your teacher's, and to ensure every student gets the most out of their learning journey.
Lesson Cancellations & Rescheduling
- •24-hour notice is required for all lesson cancellations.
- •Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged in full and cannot be rescheduled.
- •With proper notice, lessons can be rescheduled within the same calendar month, subject to availability.
No-Shows
- •If a student does not attend a lesson without prior notice, the full lesson fee will be charged.
- •No make-up lesson or rescheduling will be offered for unannounced absences.
Teacher Cancellations
- •In the rare event that I must cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time, or a credit will be applied to the following month's tuition (for weekly students) or toward the next booking (for hourly students).
Illness Policy
- •If a student is unwell, please notify me as soon as possible. The 24-hour cancellation policy still applies.
- •Online lessons are always available as an alternative if the student is too ill to travel but well enough to play from home.
Holidays & Vacations
- •Piano with Norbert follows a yearly studio calendar. Lessons falling on major holidays will either be rescheduled or skipped, with tuition adjusted accordingly.
- •Students are encouraged to provide advance notice of any extended absences (e.g., vacations).
Tuition & Commitment
- •Weekly Students (Preferred Option): Tuition is paid monthly and reserves your consistent weekly lesson time. This time is set aside just for you and cannot be offered to another student, which is why missed lessons are not refundable. Regular attendance ensures steady progress and makes the most of your investment in piano study.
- •Hourly Students (Flexible Option): For students who prefer not to commit to a weekly lesson time, lessons may be booked on an hourly, pay-as-you-go basis. These lessons are scheduled individually and are not guaranteed week-to-week. Regular weekly students have scheduling priority, and the same 24-hour cancellation policy applies.
In summary: Lessons must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to qualify for rescheduling. Weekly students reserve a guaranteed time through monthly tuition, while hourly students book flexibly as availability allows. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged in full.
